Thesis: Traditional Chinese character, the next Latin?

One subject has been widely discussed lately, whether the United Nations wants to abolish Traditional Chinese Character and adopt the Simplified Chinese Character.
The two forms of Chinese characters have both existed for many years, and either one shouldn't be the only form of Chinese written language.
We have to preserve Traditional Chinese Character, as part of 5000-year Chinese cultural assets. Therefore, Traditional Chinese Character can not become the dead language, or with the loss of language, we would regret for the loss of culture, history and heritage in the future.
